ジョニー・デップがハチャメチャな大学教授に…… 『グッバイ、リチャード！』2020年8月21日（金）公開／[The movie "The Professor, Richard!" Starring Johnny Depp! 』Released on August 21, 2020 (Friday)] 【TIROIR：映画】

『この夏、人生の終わりと向き合おう』 

「余命 180 日です。」

 ある日突然、そう人生の終わりを告げられたら、あなたは残りの人生をどのように生きるだ ろうか。貯金を全部パーッと使って遊び呆けるだろうか、はたまた 何も変わらない日々を 送り続けるだろうか。

この夏、初主演映画から 30 周年のメモリアルイヤーを迎えたジョニ ー・デップが『グッバイ、リチャード』という作品で余命180日の大学教授、リチャードを演じる。美しい妻と素直な娘に恵まれ何不自由ない生活を送っていたリチャードの生活は、ある日の突然な余命宣告によって一変した。妻の不倫告白も重なり、怖いものなしになったリチャ ードは残された人生を自分のために謳歌しようと決心。アルコールや薬物にも手を染めながらルールに縛られない新しい生活は、リチャードにとってこれまでに無い喜びをもたらしていった。人の目を気にしない彼の破天荒な立ち振る舞いは、次第に周りにも影響を与えていく。

ジョニーの他にも『ラ・ラ・ランド』（2017年）で知られるローズマリー・デウィット、『ワ ンダーウーマン』のダニー・ヒューストン（2017年）と豪華な俳優陣を共演者に構え、新鋭ウェイン・ ロバーツがメガホンをとりユーモラスに描かれた“人生の終わり”とその結末に目が離せな い。 この度、解禁された 10 枚の場面写真では、少しウェーブのかかった髪と口ひげ、スーツを着たジョニーの姿を見ることが出来る。白い病院のベッドの上で横たわっている姿や、スーツのまま池の真ん中で一点を見つめる姿。その表情だけでも、終わりの近づいたリチャードの深刻な状況と心情が見て取れる。一方、暗い雰囲気の写真とはうって変わって、明るい印象を受けるイエローで彩られた本作品のポスタービジュアルも10枚の場面写真と共に解禁された。どこか不安そうな表情で天を仰いでいるリチャードの横に『人生はくそったれで、愛おしい。』というキャッチコピーが添えられている。なんとも印象的な言葉を目印に、今年の夏は映画館に足を運んでみてはいかがだろうか。

『グッバイ、リチャード！』は 8 月 21 日（金）よりヒューマントラストシネマ渋谷ほか全 国にて公開。

“Let’s face the end of life this summer”

“Your life expectancy is 180 days.”

How would you live the rest of your life if you were suddenly told the end of your life one day? Will you spend all money you have, or will you continue to live the same days? 

This summer, who celebrated his 30th anniversary from his first movie, played Richard, a college professor with a life expectancy of 180 days in a film called “The Professor” His life, blessed with a beautiful wife and a straightforward dauther, was changed by a sudden announcement of life expectancy one day. His wife’s affair confession also overlapped, he was not scared of anything anymore and he decided to enjoy his remaining life for himself. A new life that is not bound by the rules with alcohol and drugs had brought him an unprecedented joy. His wild behavior, which does not care who sees, gradually affects the surroundings. 

In addition to Johnny, Rosemarie DeWitt, know for “La La Land” (2017), and Danny Huston, known for “Wonder Woman” (2017), with gorgeous actors as co-stars and up-and-coming Wayne Roberts picked up the megaphone. In 10 scene photos which have been lifeted, you can see Johnny in a suit with slightly wavy hair and mustache. In a photo, he lies on a hospital bed. In other photo, he stares at a point in the middle of a pond in his suit. Even just his facial expression shows Richard’s serious situation and feelings nearing the end. On the other hand, the film poster which is colored in yellow and gives a bright impression has been lifted along with 10 scene photographs, unlike the photographs with a dark atmosphere. Next to Richard, a catchphrase “Life is crap and I love it” is attached. Why don’t you visit the movie theater  this summer with the impressive words as a landmark? 

“The Professor” will be released nationwide from August 21st, including Human Trust Cinema Shibuya.
